What can I do on NYTN?

So much! Browse your favorite theatre companies, and discover new ones from the theatres tab. Search for upcoming shows by title, date, or genre on the shows tab. Want to go in depth with a theatre company? Check out their videos, or their blog. Got something on your mind? Speak up in the fan discussion boards. Fancy yourself a critic (or just want to profess your love for a particular theatre company/production)? Sign in with Facebook, and start “liking.”

What’s it mean that you’re in beta?

Please excuse our dust! This site is a work in progress. We’ll continue to add cool features, fix technical glitches, and pretty up our design over the next few months. Do you have new features you’d like to see on the site? Let us know by contacting support at support@nytn.org.

It also means we’re still working on getting all of our member theatre’s information up on the site. If it looks a little empty right now, don’t worry! We just went live a few days ago.

Something’s broken. Who can I tell?

Let us know about any technical problems or issues you may be having by contacting support@nytn.org.

ABOUT US

What is the New York Theatre Network?

The New York Theatre Network is your hub for what’s happening on New York City stages. From the hot new company you’ve never heard of, to the theatre you’ve been subscribing to for years, NYTN is the place to find out what’s coming up, who’s tweeting ticket discounts, and which theatre company makes the best YouTube videos. Sign in with Facebook to see what recent shows your friends liked. Be in the know.

Who funds the New York Theatre Network?

NYTN is supported, in part, by funds from the City of New York Theater Subdistrict Council, LDC and the City of New York. It is a joint collaboration between A.R.T./New York and TheaterMania. You might notice something’s missing from NYTN—advertising! We plan on keeping it that way—New York Theatre Network is a nonprofit service to New York City theatres & theatre lovers.

Who are A.R.T./New York and TheaterMania.com?

The Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York (A.R.T./New York) is the service and advocacy organization for New York City’s not-for-profit theatre community. Founded in 1972, A.R.T./New York has earned a reputation as a leader in providing progressive services to its nearly 300 member theatres – from shared office and rehearsal spaces, to the nation’s only revolving loan fund for real estate, to technical assistance programs for emerging theatres – which have made our organization an expert in the needs of the Off and Off Off Broadway community.

Founded in 1999 to connect the theater industry with a mass consumer audience, TheaterMania.com features comprehensive listings, news, reviews, interviews, video content and online ticketing for Broadway, Off-Broadway, Off-Off-Broadway and theater nationwide. TheaterMania.com provides listings and editorial coverage for over 40 markets, widely distributes free email newsletters and special offers to its subscribers. In addition, TheaterMania.com provides online marketing programs to performing arts organizations, and provides box office, telephone, and online ticketing services to clients across the nation through its proprietary ticketing systems.

Is every theatre in New York on NYTN?

Nope. Theatres listed on NYTN must be a member of A.R.T./New York. That means they’re definitely a non-profit, but they range in size from Broadway, to off-off Broadway, from presenting organizations to fellow service organizations. If you’d like to see every theatre in NYC, check out TheaterMania.

Who else gets to use the NYTN?

Any member of the public can create & respond to discussion topics, “like” content using their Facebook profile, and see which of their friends has recommended other theatre companies and productions.

How does “Recommended for You” work?
